ARTIST STATEMENT:
I had the pleasure of spending a few days in the Tutanning reserve, near Pingelly,WA - a genuine oasis for native flora and fauna in the sea of agricultural land that is the southern wheatbelt.
It filled me with a mix of emotions as I considered the beauty of what is, and contemplated what it once was like across this region ..and what will be the future.
As a relative newcomer to Australia my relationship with this new and ancient land is evolving, as I begin to establish connections, to put down my roots. Observing and learning about these richly biodiverse diverse landscapes I find myself in, and that inspire my artwork - the more I discover the more I am in awe.
MEDIUM: Multi block lino print over a monoprinted ground - employing 60+ hand carved lino blocks. Oil based ink on paper
