Entries will open at 10am on 24 March, and will close when we reach capacity, or on 28 April, whichever comes first.

Our 2026 theme is JOYS OF A PILBARA SUMMER
Entries are broken down into three age categories (based on applicant’s age as of 30 June 2026); 5-8 years, 9-11 years, and 12-15 years. Spaces are limited and sell out FAST.

Cossack Children’s Art Awards 2026 - Terms and Conditions of Entry
All entries should be representative of the theme: Joys of a Pilbara Summer;
Entries will open at 10am on 24 March 2026 via cossackartawards.com.au and in person at the Red Earth Arts Precinct Box Office, 27 Welcome Road, Karratha.
Entry fee is $25 per artwork and is non-refundable;
Entries for each category will close once the maximum entries have been received or by 5pm Tuesday 28 April 2026, whichever comes first. No further entries will be accepted beyond this point;
Categories are determined by age. Entrants will need to need to enter the relevant category for their age group (based on their age at 30 June 2026):
5-8 years (65 entries available)
9-11 years (65 entries available)
12-15 years (70 entries available)
Artwork Drop-Off
All works must be delivered directly by entrants or their parents/guardians to the Red Earth Art Precinct Box Office, 27 Welcome Road, Karratha, on Friday 5 June 2025 between 9am to 5pm or Saturday 6 June 2026 between 9am to 2pm.
Please note that artworks will not be accepted at the Red Earth Arts Precinct at any time after Monday 15 June 2026.
Artwork Collection
Artwork must be collected by entrants or their parents/guardians from the Red Earth Art Precinct Box Office between Monday 17 August 2026 and 31 August 2026, between 9am and 3pm.
If artworks are not collected by 5pm Monday 31 August 2026 they will be disposed of.

Entrants must label their artwork prior to drop-off at the Red Earth Art Precinct Box Office with the Entry Form provided displaying the below information. Failure to do so may result in the artwork not being accepted in the Awards. Please label the back of the frame, (do not write on the back of the canvas)

A maximum of 200 artworks will be accepted for the Cossack Children’s Art Awards 2026, with a limited number of entries per category.
The category should be based on the child’s age on 28 April 2026, the closing date for entries.
Entries will only be accepted online via the Cossack Art Awards website or in person at the Red Earth Arts Precinct Box Office.
Each child can only enter ONE artwork, and they must be currently living in the City of Karratha or surrounding regional towns.
All entrants must be Australian residents.
Upon confirmation of entry, each child will be provided with an approved 30x30cm canvas, collectable from Box Office at Red Earth Arts Precinct, Welcome Road, Karratha WA from 24 March 2026, when entries open.
Please have your entry ticket confirmation with you when you go to collect your canvas. The Red Earth Arts Precinct Box office is open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm and Saturday from 9am to 2pm.
Only artwork displayed on a 30x30cm canvas will be accepted.
Cossack Children’s Art Awards are not acquisitive, and artwork will not be listed for sale throughout the exhibition dates; 19 July to 9 August 2026.
Copyright in all exhibited artworks will remain with the artist. It is a condition of entry that the entrant grants to the City of Karratha the right to freely use, communicate, reproduce, and publish all exhibited works for publicity, promotional and educational purposes associated with the Cossack Art Awards in both digital and print mediums.
Intellectual Property: the entrant warrants that they own the intellectual property rights in their submission and that any intellectual property rights and moral rights of a third party have not been infringed. The entrant must obtain the consent of persons featured in their submitted works for all marketing, educational and publicity uses of such works and ensure that additional consents or licences required in respect of names, trademarks, designs, works of art or any other intellectual property depicted in the work are obtained prior to entry.
Insurance for artworks whilst in transit is the entrant’s responsibility. Once delivered to the Red Earth Arts Precinct Box Office, they are covered for fire and theft only. Any other insurance will be the responsibility of the entrant.
Cossack Children’s Art Awards Artworks will be displayed in the Galbraith Store, Cossack, WA from Sunday 19 July to Sunday 9 August 2026.
A judging panel will determine the winners of each category.
Winners will be announced at the Children’s Art Day event which will be held on Sunday 9 August and published on the Cossack Art Awards Facebook Page. All entrants will be invited to attend this event by email.
There will be 3x category winners, 3x Highly Commended Awards and one Overall Winner of the Cossack Children’s Art Awards.
The prizes for the Cossack Children’s Art Awards are:
$100 for each Category Winner (5-8 years, 9-11 years, 12-15 years)
$50 for each Highly Commended Award
The Overall Winner will receive $300 plus 50% discount on framing of the work at Dunnart.
