Who we are
Our 2026 exhibition will open from 19 July to 9 August 2026, from 9am to 3pm, in the historic town of Cossack, WA, supported by a range of Public Program events. Entries to the Awards will open in March 2026.
From humble beginnings in Western Australia’s resources heartland, the Cossack Art Awards have grown in size and stature over the years to become one of the richest acquisitive art awards in regional Australia.
Cossack, known as Bajinhurrba in Ngarluma language, and formerly known as Tien Tsin, is a historic town located 1,480km north of Perth and 50km from Karratha.
The Cossack Art Awards continue to grow as the highlight of the cultural calendar within the region as a nationally significant art prize.
For three weeks across July and August, the small town of Cossack comes alive with hundreds of vibrant artworks showcasing the very best artistic talent across the Pilbara and Australia.
An Artist in Residence is hosted each year and a range of Public Programs are presented to generate interest in the visual arts and craft in our region, providing skills development opportunities for local artists, art enthusiasts and visitors.
The City of Karratha with support from Principal Partner Rio Tinto is proud to present the Cossack Art Awards Exhibition with everyone.
