ARTWORK ID: 7034

CATEGORY: Works on Paper

ARTIST STATEMENT:

Like a gifted bouquet of flowers, as creatives, we offer our perspective on the world to anyone open to receiving it.

There's a vulnerability in this, as we have little control over how it will be received. Maybe the recipient doesn't appreciate the colours or variety of flowers. Maybe they're too busy or their hands are full and can't accept the gift. Regardless of how it's received, the creative process remains sacrificial-just like flowers are cut from their bushes so we can more conveniently enjoy them.

Art can be a gift of fresh perspective. And like a posy of flowers, it offers the opportunity to uplift and provide a sense of connection.

The recipient's reaction doesn't make the gesture any less valid.

MEDIUM: Watecolour paint, watercolour pencil & cut paper on paper.

ARTWORK DIMENSIONS (width x height): 680mm x 680mm

WEIGHT (approx): 2kg

ARTIST LOCATION: HOVEA, WA
