7029, Avon River - Early Morning Fog, Lorraine Pichugin
ARTWORK ID: 7029
CATEGORY: Works on Paper
ARTIST STATEMENT:
The idea for this work was inspired by the ever changing light and atmosphere I encountered during my artist residency at Beverley Station House, Beverley. I made it a point to explore the area at various times of the day and found myself constantly surprised by the vast difference a few hours could make in this beautiful landscape. This particular early morning there was an abundance of moodiness with the fog softening all that it surrounded. In the almost eerie silence and stillness, a lone bird glided across the water, leaving behind a momentary trail of where it had been. And, in a short minute, even that succumbed to the peace and calm. I knew then I had to capture this interaction somehow.
