ARTIST STATEMENT:
Proud depicts the feeling of my return to the Pilbara, a place I lived in but had not seen for 35 years. I did not foresee the profound effect growing and living in this environment affected me physically, emotionally and spiritually and how that would manifest upon my return as an adult in 2024. With a simple palette I link the liminal senses to the tangible landscape form.
