ARTIST STATEMENT:
Grain silos are not obvious subjects for a painting. Functional, utilitarian, unremarkable - they punctuate the Australian countryside in their thousands, barely noticed by those who pass them every day.
But catch them in the right light, and something shifts. The corrugated metal takes on depth and colour you wouldn't expect. Warm golds and deep blues play off each other. The sky glows. What seemed dull becomes quietly spectacular.
