ARTIST STATEMENT:
Using imprinted seed pods of the yellow Kapok Tree, together with local pigment, I created a background reminiscent of the dirt and red dust from where I had collected fallen kapok flowers, grasses, seeds, and cow horn tips. 'Found Objects' is the result of a combination of close observation, the impression of heat and fragility, and the temporal qualities of this patch of ground near a mustering yard in the Western Australian outback.
