7006, Looking Within, Naomi Antenucci

$1,800.00
sold out

AWARD WINNER: Works on Paper
SPONSORED BY: City of Karratha
JUDGES’ NOTES: The artist has really pushed the dimensions of paper, taking to the viewer on a mysterious journey though dissected cubes of negative space.

ARTWORK ID: 7006

CATEGORY: Works on Paper

ARTIST STATEMENT:

Technical skills used in the production of handmade artworks are in decline. I wanted to create a work that was self-reflective, showed a dedication of time and was a mosaic of the multitude of pieces that identify who I am. Intricately detailed, technically challenging and pushing the boundaries of what I am capable of. I strongly identify with, and respect, technically proficient artwork. I hope this dedication to detail and technique will highlight the value of traditional craftsmanship.

MEDIUM: A multilayered intaglio print with cutout elements to a depth of 25mm. Hand printed copper plate etchings, hand cut and hand bound to create a 3D layered "print" internally.

ARTWORK DIMENSIONS (width x height): 470mm x 470mm

WEIGHT (approx): 8kg

ARTIST LOCATION: INGLEWOOD, WA
