CATEGORY: Pilbara Landscape

ARTIST STATEMENT:

Living in the Pilbara, I am constantly aware of the forces that shape this landscape. Inspired by the region's cyclone season, this work explores the energy, movement, and power of nature.

The rich reds and ochres reflect the iron-rich earth, while the blues and whites evoke wind, sky, and sea. The swirling composition is intended to draw the viewer inward, creating a sense of being pulled into the forces that have shaped the Pilbara over time.

Through layers of texture and intuitive mark-making, I sought to capture both the turbulence and beauty of this remarkable region, as well as the resilience of the land and the people who call it home.

ARTWORK DIMENSIONS (width x height): 1100mm x 1100mm

WEIGHT (approx): 7.35kg
