ARTIST STATEMENT:
Some landscapes speak to us more than others for reasons not always clear at the time. The ancient landscape of this country made up of rock formations that have evolved over millions of years feed the soul. Being immersed in this land and walking through the solid earth and molten matter provides us a solid footing giving one a sense of belonging and connectedness to something bigger than ourselves.
In this work I wanted to capture the idea of human attachment to landscape and how we find identity whilst being grounded in the rhythms of rock formations we walk over.
