ARTWORK ID: 5048
CATEGORY: Pilbara Landscape
ARTIST STATEMENT:
My work explores who we are in relation to nature - its transcendent, transformative power and what resonates within us. When the wet season arrives across the Pilbara's dramatic landscape, something re-orders itself inside me, like a Galileo thermometer. Part of me cools. Part of me is wired for the storm. Everything wakes up. My skin tingles; my sense of smell sharpens. This painting comes from a memory of a camping trip. The barometer is dropping. A welcome rain is about to fall.
