ARTIST STATEMENT:
My work explores Karijini as a special place where flora thrives through seasons, in rugged red gorges and banded iron hills. I wanted to capture the 'ironstone dwellers' of winter - the hardy flora finding purchase in iron stone of these gorges and hills. Karijini in winter has chosen my palette. Pure saturated layers of coloured foliage, contrasted against rich red ironstone and the bone white of ghost gums.
