5038, Unknown land, Bernice Gaurier

$2,500.00

ARTWORK ID: 5038

CATEGORY: Pilbara Landscape

ARTIST STATEMENT:

Each day, the road takes me through landscapes that seem straight out of a dream. Between Karratha, Roebourne, and Dampier, Australia reveals itself in all its power: a land of burning red, sculpted by wind and time, where vastness stretches endlessly.

In this raw scenery, nature emerges with force-sometimes discreet, sometimes abundant. I paint it as I feel it: vibrant, exuberant, almost surreal. The Australian light amplifies every hue, intensifies every contrast. The red earth burns under the sun, the green vegetation bursts forth with an intensity that defies reality.

In the foreground, this exaggerated greenery evokes the nature introduced by humans into cities-a tamed lushness contrasting with the untamed vastness of the landscape. This painting is a tribute to these striking contrasts, where dense vegetation converses with the infinite desert. A nature both dreamed and magnified, appearing even where one least expects it.

MEDIUM: Canvas

ARTWORK DIMENSIONS (width x height): 1015mm x 760mm
