ARTIST STATEMENT:
Anticipation rises for the annual trip to the northwest and that first glimpse of spinifex cloaking the majestic landscape. A bonus is the blooming Mulla Mulla, setting delicate details in contrast to the wide impressive landscapes. In this semi abstract painting, I have tried to capture both the scale and colours of the escarpments and hills with the juxtaposition of the vibrant lilacs and purples of the flora and skies set against the timeless ochres of the land.
