ARTIST STATEMENT:
Hearson Cove is a 'go to' and hot afternoons for locals form Karratha and Dampier alike. For a swim at high tide, yes. But at low tide there are many adventures and discoveries to be had. Crabs and turtles, starfish and coal, caves and pools to explore. But the instantly recognizable f and enduring feature in our memories are the Hearsons' reflections. Sometimes the moon-rise at night, but every day, the reflections of the rugged rocks of many colours dominated by Pilbara reds. As the sun lowers in the sky the colour palette changes by the hour. So we retreat to the beach for beers and a bite, and to yarn about the events of our day in the fading light - Reflecting on Hearsons Perhaps the region's most enduring landscape, with memories to match.
