The contrasting colours of Python Pool waterhole; deep purples and reds of the ancient surrounding weathered rocks overlooking mottled greens and yellows of the deep water are a great subject to paint. The reflections create another complex layer of colours and movement. A lone bird perched in the shadows watching and waiting patiently for any movement in the water adds drama in the scene set in this natural amphitheatre.
