ARTIST STATEMENT:
This is a portrait of our 2 cats. Arkie (the calico cat) was a rescue cat and is a real princess, she is actually not happy about living with Sasha (the stripey cat) who was a stray who decided to adopt us despite objections from Arkie.
Hence the 'idealised' portrait, in reality Sasha tries to play (bully?) Arkie, and she does not usually wear the friendly expression in the painting when he is nearby!
