Artist Statement: Echoes of Stillness

"Echoes of Stillness" explores the unseen ripples created by our actions and words - like sound waves that move beyond the moment, colliding, converging, and continuing long after their source falls silent. Inspired by the abstract form of sound waves, this work reflects on how the emotional and energetic resonance of our presence impacts the world around us.
Using layered textures, vibrant colour gradations, and intersecting circular motifs, the piece captures both the fluidity and fragmentation of these echoes. Some interactions blend harmoniously; others clash, hinting at the unpredictable consequences of human exchange. The composition encourages mindfulness - an awareness that even our stillness sends out reverberations.
Crafted in textile, a medium inherently rich in memory and narrative, this work invites viewers to listen beyond the noise and consider the quiet power of intention.
