ARTIST STATEMENT:
The whale has to be the most soothing creature on the earth and it seemed to just appear on my canvas.
I knew I wanted to paint something from the ocean , but wasnt sure at the time .
I didn't see the whales until it sat in my studio for some time. Once I have completed a painting I leave it in a place where I walk past it all day , until I see my image , then I name it
The ocean offer's me an abundance of information for me to create .
My motivation for this piece, comes from my many ocean swims . I swim at six in the morning with a large group of women, seven days a week, all seasons .
This starts my day to create or conquer any negativity that I may have .
