ARTIST STATEMENT:
The colours of the North West fill me with awe. Its the grounded reds that slowly morph into a distant purple, with eucalyptus green splashed in for highlights. Its like a party where all the intermediate colours come out and play. And if you're lucky, which you often are, you get an extra sky show.
In this painting the I painted the sky colours quickly in order to represent how fleeting dusks sky shows can be. The canyon is painted deliberately to acknowledge the time mother nature took to craft such a beautiful vista.
