ARTIST STATEMENT:
I live by the sea south of Fremantle Western Australia and every day I walk along the beach where there is always a plentiful supply of seagrass both floating around and deposited on the sand. I have developed a fascination with the many patterns and movements that the combination of the loose seagrass and the sea make together. It is like a highly choreographed dance routine of which I am compelled to represent in a semi-abstracted manner - this painting is number 3 in the series "SEAGRASS" that I am currently working on.
