3059, CoastWatch 4 - Repsect the Sea, Chris Marshall

$935.00

ARTWORK ID: 3059

CATEGORY: Open Theme

ARTIST STATEMENT:

This edgy mixed-media/collage painting on gallery-wrapped canvas reflects my obsession with nature as a sculptor overlaid with my passion for protecting our environment. It features recycled soft plastics like bubblewrap as confronting collage elements.

I'm fascinated by the awesome power of twice-daily tidal movements; how water (soft, transparent, foamy) patiently carves amazing landscapes out of rock. Every wave of every tide plays its part, shifting grains of sand to huge boulders.

Unthinkingly we've also made waves carry our pollution, desecrating beautiful coastlines and endangering marine life. But every single one of us CAN make a difference by caring, acting and spreading the message just "Respect the Sea".

MEDIUM: Mixed Media featuring recycled plastics

ARTWORK DIMENSIONS (width x height): 610mm x 510mm

WEIGHT (approx): 1.5kg

ARTIST LOCATION: LEEMING, WA
