ARTIST STATEMENT:
Beautifully depicted, these boots symbolise the long term relationship a stockman has with his favourite boots. They have travelled many roads together, working in unison to move cattle, shear sheep and control the movement of his steed. They have been there at country dances, waltzing Matildas across wooden hall floors and down dirt tracks. A man's best boots will be resoled many times throughout a stockman's life and like all his works, Kelly brings his best to this stunning portrayal of small snapshot of rural life.
