ARTIST STATEMENT:
The golden glow over WA beaches always mesmerising. Applying oils to canvas becomes challenging yet achievable to capture the moment. My technique of layering fields of colour using wide brushes and palette knives creates a lot of surprises - its knowing when to stand back and hold off that is the trick. I paint a number of versions on different sized canvases then select the one that looks right. Enjoy the view.
