Capricorn and sawfish evokes the essence of the pilbara region, where by above the tropic of capricorn sawfish are found , the image of the sawfish which are listed as an endangered species symbolizes the fragility of the overall natural pilbara environment and hold significant cultural & spiritual significance to the indigenous traditional owners of the Pilbara.
Capricorn and sawfish is an emotive work striving to engage the viewer in deeper reflection of the natural and cultural complexities that create what we know now recognize as the Pilbara region.
