3014, My Favourite Aussie, Mio Gadon
ARTWORK ID: 3014
CATEGORY: Open Theme
ARTIST STATEMENT:
Upon becoming Australian in 2023 as an immigrant for 6 years, I have always dreamed of adopting a dog and providing a beautiful home. This painting of my rescue dog - Billie Rose, a 3-year-old red Australian Cattle Dog (from the K9 Rescue group), was the dream that manifested. For every night she slumbers peacefully at the corner end of my bed, how humbly she reminds me of an unconditional love that one can give and receive. This piece explores depth and contrast of darker tones without using black paint and achieving colour play to convey emotions of both warmth and partiality.
MEDIUM: Acrylic on canvas, framed
ARTWORK DIMENSIONS (width x height): 420mm x 420mm
WEIGHT (approx): 5kg
ARTIST LOCATION: WELLARD, WA
ARTWORK ID: 3014
CATEGORY: Open Theme
