ARTWORK ID: 3004
CATEGORY: Open Theme
ARTIST STATEMENT:
Time to Let Go explores the quiet inevitability of time.
The dandelion clock, full but fragile, represents the person I know and love.
As her seeds drift into faint clock faces, they evoke the slow, inevitable changes brought on by her dementia - memories and moments of her life gently slipping away.
Rather than portraying loss, this piece is a celebration of all the parts that make up my Mum - her strength, her warmth, and the love she continues to give.
To let go is not to allow her to disappear. It is to find the courage to release what is shifting, while honouring what remains.
