ARTWORK ID: 2034
CATEGORY: North West Flora and Fauna
ARTIST STATEMENT:
This watercolour represents not just the desert pea, but a personal transition, the sense of arriving home. The focus on the Sturt's Desert Pea, the iconic, resilient symbol of the region, but beyond it, the road recedes into the distance, leading toward my new home in Karratha. I've aimed to capture the scale and openness of the Pilbara sky and landscape through simplified background, allowing the viewer to feel both the vastness, the strength and the quiet intimacy of the place.
