Learn the ancient craft of coil basket weaving in this hands-on workshop. Using premium hand-dyed raffia and pandanus fibres, you will create a unique basket inspired by the rugged beauty of the Pilbara.
You will discover the meditative rhythms of weaving using the blanket stitch, learn techniques for shaping and finishing your work, and explore ways to incorporate different materials and textures. You will also have a lot of fun!
You will take home a meaningful memento of your time in Cossack, a new sense of creativity, calm and connection, and the skills to continue weaving larger baskets at home.
This workshop takes place in a welcoming and inclusive space, with step-by-step guidance. Beginners are very welcome.
