Education Facilitator EOI
The City of Karratha is excited to announce plans for the 2026 Cossack Art Awards and is inviting expressions of interest from local artists or those visiting our region to lead onsite workshops as part of the Cossack Art Awards Education Program.
We are looking for passionate individuals to deliver 1 to 3 workshops daily, each lasting approximately 45 minutes, at the Galbraith Store in Cossack, WA.
These workshops will take place from Monday 27 July to Friday 7 August 2026, from 10am to 10.45am, 10.45am to 11.30am and from 12.15pm to 1pm, accommodating school bookings during those times.
The Education Program schedule for the Cossack Art Awards 2026 will run as follows, Monday through Friday with a max of three groups:
10AM to 10.45AM:

10.45AM to 11.30AM:

This educational program, generously supported by Woodside Energy, is open to all schools and is free of charge. Workshops should cater to students from Year 1 to high school level, and the City of Karratha will handle all school bookings, ensuring groups do not exceed 30 students at a time.
Schools are expected to provide teacher supervision during the excursion.
Key Workshop Requirements:
Engaging, hands-on workshops lasting 45 minutes, adaptable for various age groups.
Focus on a specific art form, allowing each student to create an artwork to take home.
Themes or content inspired by the Cossack Art Awards 2026 or the historic town of Cossack are encouraged.
Include materials and equipment needed for the workshop for up to a maximum of 500 students throughout the two weeks. While it’s the Educator’s responsibility to source materials, support can be arranged with the City Event Officer for products to be dropped off at Red Earth Precinct and transported with your assistance by vehicle to Cossack.
The City of Karratha will provide:
Venue at the Galbraith Store in Cossack, equipped with chairs and tables for students.
Provide accommodation at the Cossack town site or 45 minutes away in Karratha. Accommodation at Cossack is basic with a clean private sleeping quarters and shared kitchen, bathroom, laundry.
Your Expression of Interest should include:
Quotation for a daily fee covering all expenses, including flights, hire vehicle (if needed), per diems, workshop materials and preparation time.
Written description and promotional image for the proposed workshop.
Brief biography or CV with a headshot
The City of Karratha will provide tables and chairs, all other materials for the workshops will be provide by the facilitator. Please provide a materials list, including per-head material costs (final numbers will be provided closer to the event date)
