This drawing is from a series of drawings and paintings on the theme of 'attention', how it can delude and skew perception. Whether attention is received or believed to have been received, the effects of it on perception are hardly distinguishable in each. Thus, in the age of cameras and hyper connectivity, a tacit pressure of being under the spotlight is a reminder all that glitters is not gold, but moreso all gold does not necessarily glitter.
