7042, Colourblind, Justin Byrne

$495.00
sold out

ARTWORK ID: 7042

CATEGORY: Works on Paper

ARTIST STATEMENT:

The Black-necked stork is a perfect example of how colourblind we are to the natural beauty of our surrounds. I wanted to explore the blending of colours flowing through the elegance of a simple black and white bird wearing red socks. Watercolour on paper allows the confluence of the pigment to imitate the scattering of sunlight through the black feathers whilst others will discuss alternative common names for the bird from their childhood.

MEDIUM: Watercolour on paper

ARTWORK DIMENSIONS (width x height): 900mm x 650mm

WEIGHT (approx): 5kg

ARTIST LOCATION: SUBIACO, WA
