1002, Pilbara Living, Mielleii Bampton

$600.00
sold out

ARTWORK ID: 1002

CATEGORY: Emerging Young Artist (aged 16 to 25 years)

ARTIST STATEMENT:

This painting is a reflection of my connection to Country, inspired by the raw beauty and spirit of the Pilbara. The rich reds and ochres of the land tell stories of ancient times, where the earth holds the footprints of my ancestors. The dry heat radiates off the canvas, mirroring the strength and resilience of both the land and the people who call it home.

The spinifex stands tall, a symbol of survival and adaptation in this harsh yet beautiful environment. The red dirt beneath it is more than just soil-it is the lifeblood of the land, carrying the whispers of Dreaming stories and the spirits of those who walked before me. Kangaroo tracks weave through the landscape, marking the paths of journeys taken, the knowledge passed down, and the unbreakable bond between people, animals, and Country.

MEDIUM: Mixed media

ARTWORK DIMENSIONS (width x height): 600mm x 609mm

WEIGHT (approx): 1kg

ARTIST LOCATION: NICKOL, WA
